MOVING HOUSE!!! *Inspection #1*

JOIN ME FINDING A NEW HOUSE!!!

So, after a bit of a disagreement with our landlords real esate agent on Wednesday, we have decide to flip them the bird and find a better house ;P

Ok, so the story goes a little like this:
We have lived here over 2yrs now and NEVER has this women EVER once called before she just shows up on our doorstep. As far as im concerned (and a lease agreement), they are REQUIRED BY LAW to give AT LEAST 7-14 days notice (preferrably in writting apparently), before they come to the property- its a “privacy” issue. Ok, so this mature-age women NEVER, EVER does and to be honest, im sick and tired of it. So, Wednesday early afternoon theres an unexpected knock at the door- its the agent with the lease renewed for another 12mths.
I said “Oh, sorry… I wasnt expecting you.”
She said “Well does it matter?”
I said “Yes, to me it does. I havnt even got any make-up on”.
She said “Well i dont care, im not coming in im not even looking at you”
I said “Well it matters to me, could you call ahead next time?”
She said “NO! Im doing you a fovour coming here, i wont call”
Then she told me i was getting “uppity” and “did i want to sign this lease or not?”
I said “Yes, but id like it if you could call ahead in future”.
She said “Well, STUFF the lease then”, turned around and stormed off!!!
This is a “PROFESSIONAL” matrue-age women we are talking about!!! Can you say CHILDISH???

Is it just me or did she totally over-react? I asked her a very simple, reasonable request and she threw a bloody tantrum!!! I dont know about anyone else but even our family and friends call before just rocking up unannounced!

So, later that day the actual landlord came around with the lease to sign and i said “We wont put up with being treated like that so we will be looking for another place.”

SO! The hunt for a new house begins!!!

The entire time we have lived here, the BOTH of them have treated me like shit- talked down to me as though i was a child, cut me off and talk over me, dont listen to me, dont fix anything in reasonable time, etc, etc, etc. Ill be glad to see the back of them to be honest!

true .. sounds like to much effort for a house thats not yours .. I mean I hate paying rent .. all it is is paying off someone elses mortgage .. it sucks .. I wish we could just buy our own place .. i mean these days the rent you pay is almost equal to paying of your own mortgage .. just the stupid banks wont lend the money

BTW, it doesnt matter if u rent thru a real estate, ladlord directly, or even family- it is a condition by law that the person leasing the house or anyone working on their behalf is LEGALLY obligated to give notice. If we could be bothered we would take it through the Tribunal. But who the can be bothered? Now she has to pay advertising, etc. to get someone else in so she has lost out- sucked in to the both of the old hags

No, not thru a real estate- shes just som old women who acts as the landlords agent & handles the paperwork for the old landlord.
I kno they hav2 give notice- thats why it me off so much.
U only hav the option to extend a lease if the landlord actually wants that. We asked for another 12mth extension & she said yes but the stupid agent turned up out of the blue, no notice & so i said somethin & she chucked a wobbly.
Yes, they are both cows. Screw them both, wer movin!

OMG u rent through a real estate? if so they have to give u notice .. I get a letter at least 2 weeks b4 the inspection .. plus they shouldnt turn up with a lease they should ring .. i would think you had the option to sign a 6 month or 12 month one as well .. sounds like a bit of a cow to me lol
